Why Hot Sauce?
Hot Sauce is the number one condiment in the U.S. and over the last five years the market has grown by 24%! More than any other type of condiment.
This trend is forecast to increase over the next 10 years.
What’s behind this trend?
The number of U.S. residents born overseas topped 44 million in 2017, according to the Pew Research Center, about five times the number in 1970. More than 75% came from countries in Latin America, South Asia or East Asia, where hot pepper flavorings have been part of their cuisines for centuries.

These communities are expanding the awareness and availability of hot sauces here.
And in the media, there has been a lot of publicity around spicy flavorings in recent years.
For example, the online show Hot Ones where celebrities like actors Charlize Theron and Bryan Cranston and comedian Wanda Sykes eat chicken wings with increasingly hot wing sauce, for entertainment.
And food TV shows like ‘Parts Unknown, with Anthony Bourdain’, and social media have popularized global cuisines.
Consumers, particularly younger people, are increasingly more adventurous in their tastes.
In a recent survey of 1,182 adults conducted by the Association for Dressings and Sauces, a trade group, 57% of a subset of respondents said they used hot sauces at least several times a week, making it the most frequently used condiment.
So, a LOT of folks!
And unique, adventurous hot sauces like ours also make great gifts for all occasions!
Why Peanut Hot Sauce?
The complex flavor of peanuts (who doesn’t love peanut butter?!), when combined with red and habanero peppers produces a whole new flavor combination that complements many dishes.
Isn’t that a Thai Flavor?
Yes, peanut flavors and dipping sauces are a big part of Thai cuisine.
Obaid sauces are not Thai based, but can be used in many different types of mainstream American fare; from steak, to burgers, to pizza, tacos and more.
